Repost: 15 Signs The Only Problem With Your Life Is The Way You Think About It

1. You generally spend more time thinking about your life than you do actually living it. You spend more time dissecting problems than you do coming to solutions, more time daydreaming than you do asking yourself what those thoughts indicate is lacking or missing in your waking life, or coming up with new solutions as opposed to actually committing to the ones that are already in front of you. You’ve replaced “reflection” with “experience,” and wonder why you feel unfulfilled.

2. You don’t find wonder in the simple pleasures, the way you once did. You think nature is boring and “play” is for children and there’s nothing awe-inspiring about a shaft of light through the window or a stranger’s smile or a spring day or your favorite book in bed. When you’ve lost sight of the magic of the little things, it’s not because the magic has gone elsewhere, only that you’ve chosen to disregard it in favor of something else.

3. You have something you wanted in the past, but you don’t enjoy it the way you thought you would, or you’ve replaced your desire for it with a desire for something else. Bring yourself back to the feeling of wanting what you have more than anything, the way you once did. Try to embody that. You’re making yourself prouder than you realize.

4. If you were to tell your younger self what your life is like now, they’d be in disbelief. You seriously could not have imagined that your life would turn out as well as it did – that the worst things became turning points, not endless black holes of emotion.

5. You think of money in terms of “obligation” not “opportunity.” Your mindset is: “I have to pay my bills,” as opposed to “I get to pay my bills, which house me, clothe me, and feed me, and that I can pay for by myself.” If you don’t value money by appreciating what it does for you, you’ll never feel as though you have enough.

6. You think you don’t have enough friends. You’re measuring the connection in your life by a quantity, not a quality, assuming that the problem is not enough around you, when it’s really that there’s not enough inside you.

7. You’re either over-reliant or under-attached to the friends you do have. You either don’t keep in touch enough or you get easily frustrated because you think that friends should make you feel “better” and “happy” in an unrealistic way. So you think that the only way to achieve that is to over-bond yourself to them, or disregard them when they don’t fulfill the role you’ve imposed on them (hence your feeling as though you don’t have enough!)

8. You imagine your life as though someone else was seeing it. Before you make a decision, you recite a storyline in your head. It goes something like this: “she went to college, she got this job, she married this guy after a terrible breakup, and all was well.” This is what happens when your happiness starts to come from how other people feel about you, as opposed to how you feel about yourself.

9. Your goals are outcomes, not actions. Your goals are to “be successful” or “see a certain number in the bank” as opposed to “enjoy what you do each day, no matter what you’re doing” or “learn to love saving more than frivolously spending.” Outcomes are just ideas. Actions are results.

10. You assume you have time. When it comes to doing what really matters to you – reconnecting with family, writing that book, finding a new job – you say “I’m only [such and such an age] I have a long time.” If you assume you “have time” to do something, or that you’ll do it later, you probably don’t want it as much as you think you do. There isn’t more time. You don’t know. You could be dead tomorrow. It doesn’t mean you have to get everything done today, but that there’s rarely an excuse not to start.

11. A bad feeling becomes a bad day. You think that experiencing negative emotions is the result of something being wrong in your life, when in reality, it’s usually just a part of being human. Anxiety serves us, pain serves us, depression does too. These things are signals, communications, feedbacks, and precautions that literally keep us alive. Until you begin thinking this way, all you will perceive is that “good feelings mean keep going” and “bad feelings mean stop,” and wonder why you’re paralyzed.

12. You think that being uncomfortable and fearful means you shouldn’t do something. Being uncomfortable and fearful means you definitely should. Being angry or indifferent means you definitely shouldn’t.

13. You wait to feel motivated or inspired before you act. Losers wait to feel motivated. People who never get anything done wait to feel inspired. Motivation and inspiration are not sustaining forces. They crop up once in awhile, and they’re nice while they’re present, but you can’t expect to be able to summon them any given hour of the day. You must learn to work without them, to gather your strength from purpose, not passion.

14. You maladaptively daydream. Maladaptive daydreaming is when you imagine extensive fantasies of an alternative life that you don’t have to replace human interaction or general function. Most people experiencing it while listening to music and/or moving (walking, riding in a car, pacing, swinging, etc.) Rather than cope with issues in life, you just daydream to give yourself a “high” that eliminates the uncomfortable feeling.

15. You’re saving up your happiness for another day. You’re sitting on the train on the way to work, thinking how beautiful the sunrise looks, and how you’d like to read your favorite book, but you don’t in favor of checking your email again. You begin to feel a sense of awe at something simple and beautiful, and stop yourself, because your dissatisfaction fuels you. You’re creating problems in one area of your life to balance out thriving in another, because your happiness is in a mental container.

There Is Something Liberating About Letting God Write Your Story

There is something comforting about letting God handle your difficulties; the things you can’t control and the things that need a miracle. When you leave it all up to him and when you trust that somehow he will get you through it.

Pinterest
There is something reassuring about letting God handle the consequences; that’s why you take risks, that’s why you try, that’s why you fail and that is why you make mistakes. There is something fearless about letting God help you overcome your fears and there is something safe in walking into the unknown when you have enough faith.

There is something peaceful about loneliness when you know God is with you, when you know he sees what no one sees, when you believe he understands what you can’t explain and when you trust that he is listening to the words you’re not saying.

At the end of the day everything is written by the hands of God. He is the only one who can change your story, erase it and rewrite it, keep it exactly like it’s supposed to be or write miracles in your destiny because of how much you’ve prayed for them.

No matter how many times we punch the wall or try so hard to avoid something, if God wants it in our story, it will happen and it will be part of it.

Why are some stories easier than others? Why are some stories better than others? Why are all stories not equally fair?

Because simply God gives everyone what they can handle and sometimes we think we can handle so much more than what we have but God knows that we can’t. Handling too much or getting everything you ever asked for can sometimes destroy you instead of building you up.

And sometimes you get everything you want and then it gets taken away from you and this is also part of your story.

Your story is all about winning and losing, destruction and rebirth, pain and joy, consistency and change, faith and disbelief, safety and fear.

Your story can drive you crazy if you’re too attached to it and if you’re constantly questioning it and trying to change it.

I think part of the reason your story is so crazy is that God wants you to know that there is nothing constant except for him. That there is no one better to lean on and trust except for him, that there is no one who will bring you what you want except for him and there is no one who can rewrite your destiny except for him.

There is something liberating about handing the pen to God and letting him do His work.

The Three Races: You Have Won More Than The Race You Had Before

In old times, fable retells the story of the young athletic boy hungry for success, for whom winning was everything and success was measured by such a result.

One day, the boy was preparing himself for a running competition in his small native village, himself and two other young boys to compete. A large crowd had congregated to witness the sporting spectacle and a wise old man, upon hearing of the little boy, had travelled far to bear witness also.

The race commenced, looking like a level heat at the finishing line, but sure enough the boy dug deep and called on his determination, strength and power… he took the winning line and was first. The crowd was ecstatic and cheered and waved at the boy. The wise man remained still and calm, expressing no sentiment. The little boy, however, felt proud and important.

A second race was called, and two new young, fit, challengers came forward, to run with the little boy. The race was started and sure enough the little boy came through and finished first once again. The crowd was ecstatic again and cheered and waved at the boy. The wise man remained still and calm, again expressing no sentiment. The little boy, however, felt proud and important.

“Another race, another race!” – pleaded the little boy.

The wise old man stepped forward and presented the little boy with two new challengers, an elderly frail lady and a blind man. “What is this?” – quizzed the little boy. “This is no race.” – he exclaimed.

“Race!” – said the wise man. The race was started and the boy was the only finisher, the other two challengers left standing at the starting line. The little boy was ecstatic, he raised his arms in delight. The crowd, however, was silent showing no sentiment toward the little boy.

“What has happened? Why don’t the people join in my success?” – he asked the wise old man.

“Race again”, replied the wise man, “this time, finish together, all three of you, finish together.” – continued the wise man.

The little boy thought a little, stood in the middle of the blind man and the frail old lady, and then took the two challengers by the hand. The race began and the little boy walked slowly, ever so slowly, to the finishing line and crossed it. The crowd were ecstatic and cheered and waved at the boy. The wise man smiled, gently nodding his head. The little boy felt proud and important.

“Old man, I don’t understand! Who are the crowd cheering for? Which one of us three?” – asked the little boy.

The wise old man looked into the little boy’s eyes, placing his hands on the boy’s shoulders, and replied softly, “Little boy, for this race you have won much more than in any race you have ever ran before, and for this race the crowd cheer not for any winner!”

The Big Achievement

Once upon a time, there was a man who knew he could achieve whatever he wanted. He wasn’t a big man, nor was he highly educated. He never really had a presence that people noticed when he walked into the room and he never appeared anywhere except in jeans and t-shirts, except in winter of course.

The Same Story

But, there was always the same story heard from his lips whenever you stopped to talk to him or he cornered you in the local store. The story went something like this: I will achieve some big things in my life and I will get to most of them real soon. I know I can succeed at anything I put my mind to so look out.

On The Verge Of

He wasn’t a mean man, in fact he was a very kind man once you got around the usual discussion about how much he was going to achieve. I saw him occasionally over the next few years and each time I spoke with him he was still going to achieve more than anyone would ever think. The problem was that he still hadn’t taken one step to implement any of his dreams – no actions at all. You probably can guess what happened next. Well, maybe you just have a little inkling.

As the years passed by, and I went on my way to several new adventures in business, he remained where he was – same house, same job, and the same dreams. The last I heard of him just before I moved away was that he was not very well and had a hard time getting around.
I have been in my new location now for several years and recently was speaking with an old friend who also new this man. It seems that not that long ago, he passed away from a prolonged illness. I asked about whether he had achieved what he wanted or had started to take action towards any of his many dreams. The sad answer was no.

Understand The Wisdom of Albert Einstein

When I think of this man, I wish he understood the wisdom said by Albert Einstein ; “The value of achievement lies in the achieving.”

For this man, there was no achievement for he was achieving nothing of his dreams. He lacked the preparation so he would know what he had to do one step at a time, and he lacked action, any action. There is no achievement made through a dream unless there is dedicated movement, action steps, and perseverance to continue, that which has been started.

The Point In This Story?

There are several points here that can make the ultimate difference between dreaming and actually achieving. One of these points is that without a solid and detailed plan that covers each necessary step combined with absolute firm target dates for each step, you can spend your entire lifetime dreaming.

The other important point is that in order to accomplish a dream, action must be taken. There is also the point to consider through any venture in life whether that is a decision to marry, or to have children, or to move to a new house. There are always risks associated with any decision and any choice. There are absolutely no guarantees that the person you choose to marry will be the last person you will ever be married to, just like a decision to buy a certain house may not end up being the best choice down the road if that house happened to be located close to where a major highway was eventually built.

But, you will never know where a dream will end up unless you do something, anything. Or, you can go through life always wondering what would have happened if you had taken action and not just simply talked.

Life Is A Gift

There was a blind girl who hated herself just because she was blind

She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend

He was always there for her

She said that if she could only see the world, she would marry her boyfriend

One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her and then she could see everything, including her boyfriend

Her boyfriend asked her, “now that you can see the world, will you marry me?” The girl was shocked when she saw that her boyfriend was blind too, and refused to marry him

The boy walked away, and later he wrote a letter to her saying: “Just take care of my eyes dear

This is how most of human brains behave after a change in status

Only few remember what life was before, and who’s always been there even in the most painful situations

In a world filled with hatred, there are very few people who truly care for fellow beings! Always keep them happy

Repost: Motivational Mountains

From a distance, it may appear that there is only one mountain. Sometimes, the distance to the first mountain is enough of a stretch before looking beyond. Life is much the same way in that we all can see at least one mountain that’s visible.

So, what is the mountain before you? What challenges does it present? What significance does it have for your life?
Every person in every country, in every city, town, village or rural area has a mountain in their life. This mountain may take on several shapes and sizes but it is a mountain; it’s your personal mountain. This personal mountain dominates your vision; it never gets smaller but can actually grow bigger over time. The mountain of which I speak maybe abstract at this point, but I can assure you that it is there in front of you begging for your attention. You can ignore it, you can try and forget it, or you can try to disguise it but it is always present.

Appreciate this great writer Byron Pulsifer for this motivational piece.

True Story: It Is Between You And God #Inspiration

Each time I read this story over and over again, it makes a deeper meaning to me. So I send to you, may be it might touch you the way I’m touched.

One day a man saw an old lady, stranded on the side of the road, but even in the dim light of day, he could see she needed help. So he pulled up in front of her Mercedes and got out. His Pontiac was still sputtering when he approached her.

Even with the smile on his face, she was worried. No one had stopped to help for the last hour or so. Was he going to hurt her? He didn’t look safe; he looked poor and hungry.

He could see that she was frightened, standing out there in the cold. He knew how she felt. It was that chill which only fear can put in you.

He said, “I’m here to help you, ma’am. Why don’t you wait in the car where it’s warm? By the way, my name is Bryan Anderson.”

Well, all she had was a flat tire, but for an old lady, that was bad enough.

Bryan crawled under the car looking for a place to put the jack, skinning his knuckles a time or two. Soon he was able to change the tire. But he had to get dirty and his hands hurt.

As he was tightening up the lug nuts, she rolled down the window and began to talk to him. She told him that she was from St. Louis and was only just passing through. She couldn’t thank him enough for coming to her aid.

Bryan just smiled as he closed her trunk. The lady asked how much she owed him. Any amount would have been all right with her. She already imagined all the awful things that could have happened had he not stopped.

Bryan never thought twice about being paid.

This was not a job to him. This was helping someone in need, and God knows there were plenty, who had given him a hand in the past. He had lived his whole life that way, and it never occurred to him to act any other way.

He told her that if she really wanted to pay him back, the next time she saw someone who needed help, she could give that person the assistance they needed, and Bryan added, “And think of me.”

He waited until she started her car and drove off. It had been a cold and depressing day, but he felt good as he headed for home, disappearing into the twilight.

A few miles down the road the lady saw a small cafe. She went in to grab a bite to eat, and take the chill off before she made the last leg of her trip home. It was a dingy looking restaurant. Outside were two old gas pumps. The whole scene was unfamiliar to her. The waitress came over and brought a clean towel to wipe her wet hair. She had a sweet smile, one that even being on her feet for the whole day couldn’t erase. The lady noticed the waitress was nearly eight months pregnant, but she never let the strain and aches change her attitude. The old lady wondered how someone who had so little could be so giving to a stranger. Then she remembered Bryan .

After the lady finished her meal, she paid with a hundred dollar bill. The waitress quickly went to get change for her hundred dollar bill, but the old lady had slipped right out the door. She was gone by the time the waitress came back. The waitress wondered where the lady could be. Then she noticed something written on the napkin.

There were tears in her eyes when she read what the lady wrote: “You don’t owe me anything. I have been there too. Somebody once helped me out, the way I’m helping you. If you really want to pay me back, here is what you do: Do not let this chain of love end with you.”

Under the napkin were four more $100 bills.

Well, there were tables to clear, sugar bowls to fill, and people to serve, but the waitress made it through another day. That night when she got home from work and climbed into bed, she was thinking about the money and what the lady had written. How could the lady have known how much she and her husband needed it? With the baby due next month, it was going to be hard….

She knew how worried her husband was, and as he lay sleeping next to her, she gave him a soft kiss and whispered soft and low, “Everything’s going to be all right. I love you, Bryan Anderson.”

There is an old saying “What goes around comes around.” Today, I sent you this story, and I’m asking you to pass it on .. Let this light shine.

Good friends are like stars. You don’t always see them, but you know they are always there.

Do good to all people, don’t lose your good attitude, it pays heavily.

It’s between you and God.

*_Your ‘Kindness’ may be treated as your weakness, still be kind._*
*_Your ‘Help’ to others may go unnoticed, still be helpful._*
*_People may cheat you if you are ‘Honest’, still be honest._*
*_People may often forget your good deeds, but always do good._*
*_It is never between you and them; it’s between ‘You’ and ‘GOD’._*

If You Trust God, You’ll Never Be Afraid: Repost

By: Rania Naim

If you trust God, you’ll never fear the unknown because you know that his light will guide you through the darkest nights. You know that his wisdom will help you when you’re lost. You know that his way may not be the easiest way but it’s the best way. It’s the only way that will protect you from what could hinder you and the only way that will protect you from what could harm you.

If you trust God, you’ll understand that you didn’t really ‘lose’ anything or anyone. God took things and people away from you for a reason. He knows when certain things have served their purpose. The messengers he sent you have taught you the lessons you needed to learn. Your mistakes made you a stronger person. The pain you went through brought you closer to him. You never really lose because God only takes away what could destroy you. He takes away what could break your heart even more.

If you trust God, you’ll never lose hope. Even when your whole world is falling apart. Even if you feel like you can never get anything right. Even if it feels like everyone is abandoning you. God is always with you. God is making room for something bigger in your life when he closes so many doors at the same time. He’s telling you that you need to change your path and your life and he will bring you this change. I learned that a lot of things in life will make you feel that God is not fair but if you look back on all the times you thought God was being ‘unfair’ you will realize that he was actually preparing you for something wonderful. Every time he made life harder, he was preparing you for something that will make your life significantly easier.

If you trust God, you’ll never question him. You’ll always have faith in him even when you don’t understand him. You’ll have faith in his timing even if it’s been years and the clock is ticking and you just can’t wait anymore. You’ll always know deep in your heart that you’re not ready for what you’re asking for.

You’ll understand that the universe is not working against you but is working for you because you know that the universe doesn’t just give you what you’re asking for right away. It gives you what you need at a time when you can appreciate it and love it. At a time when you won’t take it for granted. At a time when you’ve healed from your past and your pain and you’re praying for all the right reasons.

If you trust God, you’ll be happy. Happiness won’t be such an elusive concept. It won’t be something you have to chase. It won’t be something you have to work that hard for. You’ll simply be content and happy with his plans. You’ll be happy that you don’t have to worry about everything because you believe in his mercy and his power.

You’ll be happy once you stop getting so attached to life and start getting more attached to God because with God by your side, there’s really nothing to fear. There’s nothing to worry about. You’ll never be alone. You’ll never be sad.

The Right Place

A mother and a baby camel were lying around under a tree.

Then the baby camel asked, “Why do camels have humps?”

The mother camel considered this and said, “We are desert animals so we have the humps to store water so we can survive with very little water.”

The baby camel thought for a moment then said, “Ok…why are our legs long and our feet rounded?”

The mama replied, “They are meant for walking in the desert.”

The baby paused. After a beat, the camel asked, “Why are our eyelashes long? Sometimes they get in my way.”

The mama responded, “Those long thick eyelashes protect your eyes from the desert sand when it blows in the wind.

The baby thought and thought. Then he said, “I see. So the hump is to store water when we are in the desert, the legs are for walking through the desert and these eye lashes protect my eyes from the desert then why in the Zoo?”

The Lesson: Skills and abilities are only useful if you are in the right place at the right time. Otherwise they go to waste.
