How To Cope

I’ve got a “full moon” migraine, they come as no surprise;
They’re bound to be repeated once a month.
I think I have them conquered, I think I’m in control;
And once again it’s there before my eyes.

It drives me to the darkness, a place of solitude;
It draws away my every ounce of strength.
I’m forced to total silence, for sounds are amplified;
I live in this environment for many days at length.

So far there’s no solution, it’s “live” with what you’ve got;
Just carry on for it is bound to cease.
I struggle to be patient, to wait it out, endure,
Yet silently I’m longing for release.

But then I look at others who carry greater pain,
Who suffer a disease that has no cure.
I realize my blessings, I’m grateful to be me,
I empathize with what they must endure.

Forgive me for complaining or being in despair,
For feeling like these things will never end.
Let me find reassurance that change is bound to come,
And in a day or so I’m on the mend.

There will be reoccurrence; it’s been like this for years,
But I’ve survived these bouts that come and go.
I’ learned how to survive them and keep the upper hand,
And through it all I’ve watched my patience grow.

I do not let it rule me, nor give into the pain,
I postpone all such things that irritate.
I wait, I know I have to, or I will feel distress,
The work is always there and it will wait.

When We Feel Abandoned By God, What Should We do? How Do We Reconnect?

God Left Me! Why Has He Forsaken Me?

When We Feel Abandoned By God

It’s been a while I got this kinda concern. When I started reading this concerned message I realised am also a victim to this. But in this case let’s read and try to contribute positively in supporting and helping this anonymous brother.

I grew up in the church and I know the Bible well. But now, I’m positive that God left me. Like Saul. I’m empty and it seems pointless to live. I’m basically a corpse walking around. I have no joy, peace, patience or kindness. No fruit of the Spirit. How can I have the fruit of the Spirit when God left me? I got sick about a month ago and started doubting everything. I was thinking sick thoughts–blasphemous thoughts. I tried to fight with scripture but the doubt and evil thoughts continued to expand. And now I know that the beautiful spirit of the Lord is gone. God left me; He has deserted me. I’ve prayed and prayed but I’m sure God left. God has given me over to a reprobate mind. Now nothing affects me. My heart is hard. I know that the Bible is God’s Word and that Jesus is God’s Son and that He gave He gave the Holy Spirit to dwell in those who believe. I know who God is even if He gave me over to a reprobate mind. I will continue to let people know that He is true even thought God left me.

Uncle Tim gave a very positive and encouraging advise.

The purpose of God’s testing is not to undermine us, but to purify and to move our assurance away from feelings which can be transitory to a solid faith that seeks to serve God even if it seems that He is destroying us (Job 13:14). Sometimes we think we are strong Christians when we do not realize on what weak legs we stand. Then the storms come, as Scripture says they will, and our worlds are turned upside down. God’s purpose through His training of us is to substitute for our weak legs some strong legs of faith, where we seek God and seek to live out His will even when our worlds seem to be collapsing around us. We are the house built on the rock.

So my encouragement to you is to lift up the feeble legs (Hebrews 12:12-13), stand strong in God, understand His purposes in your life, and hope in Him. When the testing is done, you will come through as pure gold, a treasure fit for His presence, and a blessing to all.

Another anonymous contributor advises

So here is what I do when difficult times come. First, I pray and ask God to reveal if there is some sin that has brought about the feeling of estrangement. If there is some sin that comes to mind, I confess it.

Second, having dealt with any know sin, I remind myself of His promises to me and assure myself that God is not a liar. In fact, I go farther and reaffirm to myself His great character and desire for us. Sometimes I read some of the great passages of Scripture on God’s character. I reaffirm that He has forgiven my sin and cleansed me, even as He promised and even though I do not “feel” clean. The feelings follow faith. I talk to myself about Him.

Third, I stop and worship Him for who He is. I submit myself before Him and tell Him how great He is. I see this with Job’s response, where in his sorrow he paused and worshipped (Job 1:20).

Fourth, I talk to myself about me, my purpose in this world, my calling to represent Him well, my choice not to focus on myself but to focus on Him. I reaffirm that serving Him is my choice no matter how I feel.

Finally, I seek to engage with His word and continue to pray, accounting that He is listening even when I have no feeling of engagement. (But I must admit, usually by the end of step 2, I find that I have reconnected. There is something about worship that touches God’s heart and transforms ours.) Yet, in the times when I still feel remote, I choose to draw near to Him and trust that in His time He will draw near to me. And He always does.

Other contribution to this …

Faith is trusting when we cannot see, banking that in the morning joy will return.

I encourage you not to be cast down, but to know that such times of struggle are part of God’s good gifts to His own, demonstrating His loving training so that our faith may stand strong and robust and be able to withstand any storm that strikes the rock on which our house is built.

I know this is difficult, especially in times you are not feeling well. But I encourage you to engage with others, and seek their prayers for mutual support during this time.

What advise do you have for this concerned brother, we will love you to share your thoughts and contributions too….

Have a blessed Sunday!!!

Things You Forgot To Thank Yourself For

Things You Forgot To Thank Yourself For

We’re always thanking our friends and family for their support and the incredible things they do for us but we sometimes forget that we should thank ourselves as well for the things we go through and how at certain times we make it completely on our own. Here are some of the things you should thank yourself for:

1. For trying to be a better person. Thank yourself for trying to be a better friend, or a better partner or better to your parents. Thank yourself for going out of your way to help someone. Thank yourself for going the extra mile for a friend who truly needed your support.

2. For not giving up. During your finals, during stressful work weeks and during difficult times. Thank yourself for pulling yourself together and enduring the anxiety and the pain that you had to go through. Thank yourself for making it out of the storm in one piece.

3. For taking care of yourself. Thank yourself for trying to take care of yourself first before you can take care of others. Thank yourself for the times you had to focus on yourself and did a great job. Thank yourself for understanding that you have to always work on yourself because this is the person you will truly live with forever.

4. For trying to achieve your dreams even if they didn’t happen yet. Thank yourself for trying to go to school again, for trying to ask for a raise, for trying to look for another job, for trying to move to a new country. Thank yourself for the awareness you have that you need to dream bigger and do better.

5. For letting someone you loved go. Thank yourself for letting them be, for moving on even when it was hard, for trying to forget them when you didn’t want to and for doing your best not to contact them when it was all you ever wanted. Thank yourself for protecting your own heart.

6. For the moments of weakness. Thank yourself for giving yourself permission to eat that cheeseburger or skip the gym for a few weeks. Thank yourself for telling someone how you truly felt. Thank yourself for knowing that you are not perfect but there are perfect moments where you just have to be unapologetically you.

7. For making mistakes. Thank yourself for the decisions that were not so great, it means you’re learning, it means you’re evolving and it means you’re growing wiser and stronger. Thank yourself for not allowing your mistakes to define you.

8. For your kindness. Thank yourself for doing something selflessly, for giving something without expecting anything in return, for sharing your experiences or stories with people who could benefit from it and for being kind to yourself when the world is being hard on you.

9. For embracing the chaos of life. Thank yourself for keeping a smile on your face when you’re sad, for waking up and participating in life when you feel the weight of the world crashing down on you, for going out when all you want to do is stay home and for believing that things will get better even though you’re not sure. Thank yourself for trying to live your life – no matter how unpredictable and messy it can be.

10. For all the things you do that make you proud. For the little things and the big things. For the things that make you happy and the things that make you look forward to tomorrow. For the beautiful things you do that go unnoticed, for the sincere prayers you say to the ones you love, for the compromises you make, for the risky chances you take and for the silly things you do to make people smile. Thank yourself for any moment that made you grateful to be alive and made you love yourself a little bit more.

Life as they say is not easy. But each day you try your best to make it more suitable and easy for yourselves. Don’t forget to thank yourself each day for not giving up on life.

Question: What Is The Purpose Of Life? The Powerful Answer That Set Us Free

This beautiful inspiring piece was originally written in follow the light within blog.

Good morning guys, trust your weekend was awesome. Great 👍 Good to start the week with a small push of motivation about purpose.

Back to the main reason we here today.
This for me was the million dollar question. Sometimes we all just seem to aimlessly roam the earth with no purpose. There seems to be constant war, pain, and disappointment. It’s easy to fall into anxiety and depression. I know it is for me. Do we all just work all our lives to gain social security and then die? Do we purely come to just fight for survival then die? Do I really consider that purpose?

These are the questions I had. I asked them with tears in my eyes as I began to meditate. This was actually one of the first questions I asked God. but set me free all the same.

But before I give you the answer I received, I would like to say a prayer. I take my teachings and knowledge to others very serious. What you tell and teach others can be life changing, and I hold much responsibility in my hands to give my best.

Dear God,

I don’t teach to change anyones religion or personal beliefs, but to lead them to you in thire own way and time. I’m only here to enlighten them with new information that inspired me, and then let thire hearts lead the way to you. I want you to enter thire hearts and lead them to you the way you see fit. Please allow me to give them accurate information and keep my heart pure with only the best intentions. To God be all the glory!

Amen

Okay, so here we go! This is the answer I received.

Purpose? Why do you feel like you need a definite “purpose”. Existence itself is the main purpose. Why can’t existence itself feel like purpose? Why do you feel like you shouldn’t exist? Stop and smell the flowers. Enjoy the breath of life! Take note from the animals. They don’t fret and panic to find purpose. They simply live and let nature run it’s course.

The flowers just bask in the sun and enjoy the glory.
That’s how I intended life to be for all my creation, big and small. But, if you really feel like you badly need to serve a “purpose”, my purpose for humankind was to follow your heart. If you allowed nature to run it’s course, you would do what you enjoy. You like to call them hobbies. But originally they weren’t supposed to be just hobbies, but opportunities to do what you love. To do the things that makes your heart sing everyday that you wake up. I gave everyone gifts and talents for a reason! Go ahead and be an artist if you love to paint. Or be an author or film maker if you were blessed with an big and colorful imagination! Do arts and crafts if you enjoy creating things ! The list is limitless! You were supposed to let your passions and gifts flourish!

But, all of that was ruined by greed and corruption. You put your gifts and passions aside to work a 9 to 5 and called your true purpose a hobby! Now you work only for the sole purpose to make money- not to contribute your gifts and enjoy life. As long as the system of greed stands, you will always be a slave to the system you built! I definitely did not build this system you live! You can make a change by simply supporting the small guy who possess love and talent for what he/ she does. Support each other’s dreams and the chains would be released a little at a time!

And don’t forget family and friends. Life is nothing without those you love to share it with! Your sole purpose is to love and be loved.

The purpose of life was to be surrounded by love of all sorts and kind. You are an extention of me, and I an extension of you. And we are made of love and passion in its purest form.

That was the answer I received!

Now you can take that answer and apply it to your life the way you see fit! And if you don’t agree with the answer, allow it to make you stand strong in your truth and let God lead you were you are supposed to go!

After reading this article, I felt a push and positive mindset about my purpose. To do what I love and as much as possible be with people I love and relate with.

I hope this article also gives you that positive aura on your purpose in life.

Have a blessed day guys.

The Power Of Your Words

We may not all be created equal in every attribute but we all have several things in common.

So, what are these things?
Of Course, Our Time…..
All of us have the same amount of time – the same amount of seconds, minutes and hours in a day to do with as we desire.
And There Is, Individual Power
We also have individual power although some may think not because they live in countries where they are ruled by a strict dictator or military government.

But, even these people have power.

Combine Time and Power in Your Words?
The time you take and the power of your words – how you say them, what words you choose to use, and when to speak these words. These words can be ones that ridicule, make fun of, chastise, or ones that provide encouragement , praise or demonstrate kindness.

A Story Of Time and Power of Words
I recall a story told to me by a good friend of mine who used to commute to work daily on a go train. Once disembarking the train, he always walked he short distance to his office building along with all the other throngs of people hurrying on their way to their work.

Each morning, he passed an older man who was always at the same spot with cup in hand hoping to get a bit of change by those who passed by. For most people, this person was someone to be ignored as if he didn’t exist, a person who they didn’t want to be bothered with.

Invariably, though, my friend would always say good morning to him and bid him to have a good day. The stranger would smile back, say good morning and remain on station until all the commuters had gone on their way.
Occasionally, my friend would drop a dollar or two in his cup on his way by as he said hello.

This behaviour went on for several years until one day his last day on the job before retirement, my friend stopped for a few moments to speak with this man.
He told the man that he would no longer be passing by because this was his last day on the job.

The man took his hand and shook it warmly saying that he had always looked forward to seeing my friend pass his way and not because he dropped a few dollars in his cup.

He said he would miss my friend because he was one of the few people out of thousands who passed him daily who ever said hello, and was the only one who ever bid him to have a good day.
The man also said that his warm words always brightened his day and helped him to continue on despite being ignored by thousands of others who saw him daily.

The Message Is Clear
We all have power in words and it doesn’t mean, at all, that the most basic of greetings and recognition have no impact. In fact, all our words have impact and so often we do not recognize that some can be devastating to another, others can cause others to give up, or others can help encourage.

Never Forget The Power That You Have
Remember your power when you speak for you have more influence than you think. Your words may be the encouragement that someone desperately needs. Take the time , sometimes it is only a matter of seconds! You may be surprised the difference you will make in someone’s life.
