Pleading The Blood Of Jesus In Prayers

The name that is above every other names. Jesus my King!!!

Pleading the blood of Jesus is one of the most effective ways to pray that I have ever learned. When I present the blood of Jesus to Father God in prayer, it’s like I can sense a transaction taking place in Heaven. I can feel that I am praying God’s will for my life, and that I’m giving Him permission to do all the radical things His Word says He wants to do.

By pleading the blood of Jesus in prayer, I have seen relationships healed, physical needs provided, my finances protected, and many other things. God always answers the blood of Jesus!

Look at what the Bible says in Hebrews 10:19-23:

“Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful”

We always hear that Jesus’ blood bought us forgiveness of sins, healing, and eternal life; and of course those things are true. However, healing, forgiveness, etc are like raindrops falling from a big cloud in the spiritual sky. And unfortunately, we tend to look only at the raindrops, without ever noticing the glorious, over-arching cloud overhead!

So what is that cloud? What is the link that ties everything together? The glorious “cloud” that Jesus purchased for us with His blood is the wonder of complete and total access to God, to intimate relationship with Him, and to everything He wants for us.

Jesus’ blood purchased complete and total one-ness with God for us, His adopted children. That blood made a way for us to know God, to dwell with Him, to abide in Christ Jesus, and to receive everything our Father has so that His will can be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Isn’t that amazing?

So how do we plead the blood of Jesus in prayer? We simply:

Remind God of what His will is (as revealed in Scripture);

Remind God that Jesus poured out His blood on the cross so that Father’s will could be carried out; and

Insist that Father carry out His perfect will based on the blood of Jesus, which is the legal currency with which He purchased our victory.

Here are six things from the Bible that help us to see why the blood of Jesus holds such a special place in the hearts of believers:

1. We gain bold access to God in worship and prayer

The Bible is clear that every person is alienated and separated from God because of our sin (Colossians 1:21). That means even the best of us are actually unable to approach God to offer worship or prayer. Because of our sins, we remain at a distance from Him.

But the Bible tells Christians to come boldly into God’s presence, “We have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus” (Hebrews 10:19). If you are a Christian today, you can have boldness and confidence as you approach God with your prayers and your worship, because you are no longer far away from God, “Now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been made near by the blood of Christ” (Ephesians 2:13).

It is because of the blood of Jesus Christ that we have the great privilege of pouring our hearts out to God (Psalm 62:8) casting our cares on Him (1 Peter 5:7) and praying any time and any place in the power of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:18). Does your prayer life reflect the kind of relationship you have with God through the blood of His Son?

2. Forgiveness of sin

In addition to being able to enter into God’s presence through the blood of Christ, we are also forgiven of our sins. Ephesians 1:7 says that, “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.” Because of Christ’s shed blood, God is able to forgive us for our sins and give the punishment that we deserved to Christ.

Christ had a special way of explaining this to his disciples during the Last Supper, which also was the Passover meal celebration.

He said, “For this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins”(Matthew 26:28). He was telling His disciples that just as the blood of the lamb delivered the Hebrews from the night of terrors in Egypt, so Christ’s own blood would deliver the people who were covered by it from the judgment of God on the last day.

3. Consciences cleansed

Through the blood of Christ, Christians receive the cleansing of their consciences. Hebrews 9:14 says, “…how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God.”

This is an amazing promise! Christ cleansing our consciences from acts that lead to death! How does He do it? By the blood of Christ, because on the cross He offered Himself unblemished to God! He offered Himself—His unblemished, perfect life—as a sacrifice to God for us on account of our sins. Therefore, He alone is able to cleanse our consciences through His blood.

Even though all of our minds have been corrupted by sin and seared as with a hot iron (1 Timothy 4:2), Christ can cleanse our consciences. We are able to live right lives and think right thoughts once again in Christ. This is great news for those who are burdened by a sinful past and corrupted consciences.

4. We are progressively cleansed from more and more sin

Not only are we forgiven from sin, but we are also sanctified through the blood of Christ. Hebrews 13:12 tells us that “Jesus also suffered…in order to sanctify the people through his own blood” (Hebrews 13:12). God is calling his people be holy as He is, which is one of the reasons Jesus suffered. Without holiness, no one will see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14).

After we are forgiven of our sins and able to enter into a new relationship with God, it makes sense that God wants us to be in a new relationship with the sin that previously condemned us as well. That is why he gives us the power, through the blood of His Son, to be cleansed from our sinful behaviors.

5. We are able to conquer the accuser of the brethren

Because of Christ’s sacrifice and the pouring out of His blood on our behalf, we can trust in the righteousness of Christ and not our own righteousness when we are accused by our enemy. Revelation 12:11 says, “And they have conquered him [Satan] by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.” As believers, we know that we cannot stand on our own merit or because of our own deeds. We know that our good deeds are as filthy rags before God (Isaiah 64:6) and that the Christ’s righteousness attributed to us is how we are able to stand up against accusations.

6. Rescued out of a sinful way of life

…you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. (1 Peter 1:18-19)

Being ransomed from futile ways is another benefit Christians have through the blood of Jesus. We are rescued from a life lived devoid of meaning and are brought into a relationship with God and the ability to live in his will and with purpose.

Compared to the precious blood of Jesus Christ, the most valuable things of this earth (like silver and gold) are reduced to meaningless, perishable things. That is because the blood of Jesus gives Christians salvation of their souls, forgiveness from sins, access to God, victory over the enemy, and the power to live with a clear conscience, something that the gold and silver items in the Old Testament temple could never do.

Disturbing Photos: Prayer For Nigeria

This week has been a week of sadness, sorrows, and tears. I myself am confused about what is really happening in Nigeria.

First of all, it was Fulani herdsmen killing 150 innocent people in Plateau Jos. Now it’s a tanker accident claiming innocent lives of over 50 vehicles.

O! Lord, Nigeria is your country. We seek for your candidate for us to rule this country next coming election. Father choose a leader for us like you did with the Israelites. We are tired of having ichabods as leaders who don’t have compassion and pity to the people.

I don’t know who’s reading this but am sure we all need prayers for our countries and leaders. Aside the horror occurrences in Nigeria, the world at large has been experiencing a lot of horrors too. Let us all come together and pray for our countries.

Stop The Killings In Jos Plateau State Nigeria

It’s been all sad and gory the news coming from jos. I have been traumatized by different video of people been killed and burnt like the sallah rams I knew whilst growing up. But the curious things is that these has been a constant feature in our lives since I was a child. We saw it in jos, Kafanchan, ife-modakeke, lagos, eastern nigeria etc. It’s only on our faces constantly now because of the way the world have evolved social media wise.

Unfortunately it will continue to happen except those who commit crime of taking other peoples lives are brought to justice and promptly too.

Jos had known relative peace in recent times only after both parties became tied of the vicious cycle of retaliatory killings. Now Jos has started again; it may take the next 5 years for common sense to prevail. When people cannot have confidence in the state to ensure justice; they will always resort to self help. Amongst other solutions that ensures that lives and properties are protected; we must start by ensuring that justice gets done whenever these things happen whether Fulani or berom or Yoruba or Igbo etc.

All of us as Nigerians are guilty; I mean all of us except the younger ones who have not yet been opinionated. We do nothing but spread hate in our lives in the name of defending our religions and myopic ethnic sentiments. We do it when we spread hate in social media like some people will comment on this post.

We must remember that it is easy to speak nonsense from our comfort zone; but reality sets In when we or our loved ones become victim. I was a kid when I witnessed chaos. My daughter is fourteen ; how will I explain to her that her countrymen and women slaughter people in this age and time? How do I rationalize that it makes sense to be a nigerian?

So I don’t believe a Muslim or Christian should be killed for the crime of people they don’t know but just because they have the misfortune of sharing same faith or ethnicity. You or me can just come under cross fire just because we are in the wrong side at the wrong time and a nonentity will take the liberty to snuff life out of us. Slaughter me or you and mutilate our body. It can be me or you if we don’t work together to stop this madness. Take a second to look at yourself in the mirror and imagine being slaughtered despite your dreams; despite your sacrifices for your nation; despite your status; I just did and it’s horrible!

Stereotyping will never help us. There is nothing like Fulani herdsmen as the killer; it’s simply criminals of Fulani or berom or Yoruba or Igbo ethnicity. When we categorize a whole ethnicity; we expose an innocent Fulani or Yoruba or berom or Igbo man. We must treat Murderers as criminals and we must as a society condemn them through the judiciary and banish them. Millions of lettered Nigerians; well exposed and well travelled have blood of innocent ones in their hands because they have help spread the categorization and stereotyping.

We need a leadership that can unite us as a country. If we think we have seen worse things, visit Rwanda. Go to their museum, speak to families and you will realize that with the right leadership, the right resolve, they rallied themselves and became one nation. The right leadership is not just MBuhari, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo. It’s me and you around our sphere of influence. Act now and drop the bulk passing! Sir and Ma, what narrative are you propagating?

It’s a sad moment to be a Nigerian.

The Warfare of Peace When Feeling Depressed And Scared

Punchline: The devil cannot handle believers who know how to “hold their peace”.

Pinterest

When trouble comes, our first temptation is to get upset, speak out of our emotions, and start trying first one thing and then the other in the hopes of finding something that will work and turn the situation around. All of these are unacceptable behaviour for the believer who is walking in faith. Nine of them will bring victory. Jesus gave us peace. It is our inheritance. The devil regularly attempts to steal it, but peace is ours, and we must hold on to it. (See: Exodus 14:14).

As believers, we are seated in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 2:6). The word seated refers to rest, and the words rest and leave are equivalent to one another.

The book of Hebrews teaches us to enter the rest of God and cease from the weariness and pain of human labour. (See Hebrews 4:3, 10-11) This peace is available to us and as been since Jesus Christ came, died for us, was resurrected from the dead, and ascended on high.

Once upon a time in my life, the devil played his mind game, throwing different negative thoughts in my mind, like: Will I be good enough married, how will I foot the bills for my wedding, how will I get a bigger space to raise a family, will I still have a job since am a contract staff, fear of the unknown now kicked in, everything became Bla bla bla!!! At some point I got knocked down and fell to his mind games. One day I tuned in to Daystar television, Joyce Meyer was ministering ,and the topic was peace. It’s like God took me to that channel deliberately. From there on, I regained my strength and thank God am in a process. I kept on saying “Greater Is He that’s in me, than he that is in the world” I went all scriptural in my declaring. I don’t have to feel condemned, I don’t have to be afraid because Christ lives in me. I will not worry over what tomorrow brings, because I trust the Lord for securing my future and whatever plans I make, He’s always there to see me through. Fear of the unknown is very dangerous to our health. It can make one sick, or commit suicide if not careful. The peace of God is very essential and needed in our life to put our trust in Him, and be joyful.

Peace is available, but we are encouraged to enter it. We enter the peace of God by believing His word and by trusting in Him instead of in ourselves or someone else.

We benefit when we defeat the devil, but Jesus also benefits. It gives Him glory when we operate according to His word. He is able to bless us with our inheritance in Him. Talking about the promises of God is encouraging, but possessing them is much better.

God’s plan is to work in our lives to bring us to the place where we can keep ourselves at rest during times of adversity. The prophet Isaiah wrote, “Fear not, for I am with you, do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am you God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My right hand of rightness and justice.

All those in strife against you, those who come at you with a spirit of contention and war, shall end up as nothing. So hold your peace. As you hold your peace, I can work because it shows that you are trusting Me.

The next time something or someone threatens to steal your peace, don’t give in. Instead, release God’s power by holding on to your inheritance and trusting that He will take care of the situation for you.

Prayer For Jet Li

One thing I love when am home is to either play soccer game or watch a kungfu movie. Am a huge fan of kunfu movies and love to see my action characters in play like Jackie Chan and Jet Li.

Jet Li 55 is trending online recently about his health. I was moved to tears when I saw his recent picture that surfaced online. I screamed that is not Jet Li. He’s been suffering from a terrible sickness “hyperthyroidism”. According to his manager, Chasman confirmed that Li had been battling the condition for 10 years.

“He has hyperthyroidism that he’s been dealing with for almost 10 years. It’s nothing life-threatening and he’s dealing with it,” he said.

Fans around the world are praying for his quick recovery. I know most peeps don’t like kungfu movie nor like Jet Li as a character in a movie. But our prayers together will heal him.

It’s well!!!

Prayer Is The Lifeline That Brings Divine Oxygen To The Lungs

Begin each day by saying the Lord’s prayer. When you come to the words, “Give us this day our daily bread”, remember that Jesus told us to ask only for the needs of one day. Most of our worries come from being too concerned about the future.

Praying to God and Thanking Yahweh for His Goodness, Kindness, and Protection.

When Christ was in Galilee He gave himself entirely to the work there. He didn’t wear himself out by worrying about what would happen to Him in Jerusalem when it was time for Him to go there. He knew that when future trials came, He could meet them with the Father’s help.

In the life of Christ we find our example. Trust in God. Each morning ask Him to guide you in the decisions you must make that day. Every hour take time to send a minute prayer to Heaven. You may have fell like a deep sea diver who is suffocating for want of air.

The Bible tells us that e were made for God, and when we refuse to give Him his rightful place in our lives then things go wrong and our lives become distorted. I have discovered that often people who seemingly have everything in terms of fame and fortune believe that they will eventually find happiness by pursuing those things even more. But its a dead end road, for lasting happiness and peace can only come from God.

King Solomon discovered. During his reign, Israel had peace and was very wealthy. Solomon could have anything and can buy, and in search for happiness he tried everything imaginable- wealth, sex, power, pleasure, alcohol, even religion.

I denied myself nothing my eyes desired; i refused my heart no pleasure (ECC 2:10) But what was the result of Solomon’s search? Yet when i surveyed all that my hand had done and i had failed to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

In verse 11, Solomon finally realized that lasting happiness and meaning in life could only be found in God.

These things should be warnings to us, to be sure that we do not seek to fill the emptiness in our lives through things that can never satisfy our hearts. Only God can do that an He will if we will open our hearts to Jesus.

NB: Why spend your labour on what does not satisfy

– Prophet Isaiah

Prayer For The Week

This week where your strength has failed you, the Lord shall help you. That situation putting question marks on your life shall be shaken off by the power of the Lord. The power of the Lord shall put to shame every spirit that want to put you to shame. That evil sword drawn to cut your destiny shall catch fire. The Lord shall renew your strength, you shall mount up with wings like eagles. You shall run and not be weary. You are thriving, rising and flying without limits today in Jesus name. Amen.

Prayer Tuesday

Father I confess that I have let my own over sensitive self be wounded and have reacted with pettiness when my brothers and sisters in Christ have treated me as I felt I deserved. I know Jesus was treated so rudely and shamefully by those he created and so I shouldn’t be surprised when things don’t always go well for me. But my heavenly Father, please help me to know when to challenge those who wound me with a loving confrontation and when to just ignore the barb and find a way to minister to them because of some deeper wound has crippled them in their life. Father, let me be an instrument of your peace, harmony, grace, and unity. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

3 Ways to Pray Like the Devil? #prayer #worship #God’s Power #demon

Now that’s something you don’t get asked often—not even in the most spiritually-minded Christian circles. But according to John Piper, this might be a question well worth examining.

In his newest article on Desiring God , Piper presents us with something he names “the Exegetical Devil-Principle”: when the Bible tells you to do something, think about how much of that thing Satan himself can do. Then…go beyond that.

Piper leads with an example:

“In 1 Corinthians 12:3 Paul says, “No one can say ‘Jesus is Lord’ except in the Holy Spirit.” So, applying my devil-principle here, we recall that the devil has no doubt about the lordship of Jesus over the world, and over the entire demonic realm. He knows Jesus is Lord. And his demons say as much.”

In applying the devil-principle, it’s clear that Satan can (and must) do what God commands. But the next question isn’t “are you at least doing that? “, but “are you doing more than that? ” . That’s right—are you, as a believer, doing more than demons, who actively believe and declare that Jesus is Lord?

For many of us, the bare minimum of what Satan does seems to exceed our maximum efforts. I’ll admit that even in my own Christian walk, there are many areas where Satan himself puts me to shame.

The gospel of Mark presents us with a picture of a demon possessed man who ran to Jesus upon seeing Him and fell on his knees right in front of Him. Do we, as believers, fall on our faces before the power of God? Or, even in this example, does a demon-possessed man put us to shame?

“Never settle for a definition of ‘faith’ that requires only what the devil himself can do ,” Piper challenges us.

Here are 3 ways you can pray like Satan, and then go beyond the example of the evil one:

#1. Run to God…and fall at His feet.
Like the demoniac in Mark 5 , fall at God’s feet. Bow down and worship Him. The demons have power (and they know it), yet they acknowledge their power is nothing compared to the power of the Almighty God. You’ve been given power of your own, but more than that, you’ve been granted favor. How much more of a reason do you need to fall flat on your face before the Maker of all that is, was, and is to come?
Now do more than Satan: Come to Him with gratitude, and a heart full of love.

#2. Ask God for what you need.
The opening chapter of Job gives us a picture of how even Satan must ask God for things—and come before His throne to do so. Kind of convicting, when all we do in our prayers is make a list of petitions and requests.

Now do more than Satan: Receive God’s will for your life and accept His leading.

#3. Acknowledge God’s power (and be in awe).
In speaking about faith and works, Jesus gave this declaration in James 1:19 : “You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that–and shudder.”

Belief is important. But pay attention to what Jesus says right after this: “You foolish person! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless?”

Now do more than Satan: Don’t just “believe God” and declare His power. Follow your belief with whole-hearted action. Live out your faith by doing the tangible work God calls you to do.

As John Piper so poignantly reminds us, “Christians don’t just believe the same facts the devil believes. We love and embrace the truth about God.”

Who agrees to Piper’s ways???
