RCCG Holy Ghost Congress 2017 Begins Today: Repost

This year’s Holy Ghost Congress of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) kicks off today at the church’s Redemption Camp, Km 46, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

With the theme “Songs of Victory” the Congress will runs till December 9, each day packed with various activities, organisers say.

Among those to minister at the Congress are Enoch Adeboye, general overseer, worldwide, and other preachers, such as Bishop Tudor Bismarck, Stephen Rathod (US), Mensa Otabil (Ghana), S.K. Abiara, Mike Okonkwo,  Ayo Oritsejafor, and Joe Imakando.

The Congress is not all about sermons, according to a programme released by organisers. Built in are special sessions for talks on various aspects of life.

They include such topics as: Affordable diet for good health; Identifying and operating a profitable retail business; Preservation of agricultural produce; Small scale vegetable farming; The ABC of personal and family security; Managing family finances in a depressed economy; and The pitfalls on the journey to marriage.

Expected at the Congress are members of the church from over 196 countries where the church has presence, and other people who would be attending for various spiritual reasons.

Usually, with the twin auditoriums of the church full at the peak of the event, attendance is put at over six over million people. Many other people, who are not opportune to attend, are expected to participate through viewing centres in the 196 countries.

RCCG holds monthly Holy Ghost Services at the Redemption Camp, which is rounded off with a Congress in December.

According to Pastor Adeboye, the Holy Ghost Service was first held in 1986.

He recalls in a testimony: “I was in London preparing the Sunday school booklet for the mission when I heard from God. He said, ‘Son, what do you want for your birthday?’

‘I was shocked. The reason I was shocked was that: I didn’t know God would be interested in my birthday., And secondly,  I didn’t know He could be asking me for about what I wanted as present.

“So I said, ‘Lord if that is you, please repeat the question.’

“He assured me it was Him and asked again what I wanted as a birthday present.

“I replied, ‘What I want is that all my members will get miracles.’

“He asked, ‘Is that’s all?’

“I replied: ‘That’s all I want.’

“Then He said, ‘In that case when you get home, call them together and I will give them whatever they ask for.’

“I needed to call the service a name, so I asked Him.

“And He said: ‘Holy Ghost Service.’

“What happened at the first Holy Ghost Service was wonderful. And when we finished, my people came to me to request that I consulted God for the service to hold every year.
God granted the request.

“But after some time, members of the church suggested that I should request for a monthly Holy Ghost Service. And that was granted.”

Testimony: Share Your Story

There a lot of things that have happened this year to thank God for. I am overwhelmed and happy to share mine.

  • First thing is His grace and mercy throughout the year (January – December)
  • An unexpected employment from a big government establishment with no stress
  • I successfully proposed to my girlfriend
  • My younger siblings successfully finished their degrees from the university
  • Good health
  • Favours and blessings in unexpected ways
  • Seeing my friends progressing as requested from God
  • My family well being

This is just a few from a lot. But I know you have yours too. Share your testimonies, it might be a breakthrough to someone out there.

Love you guys and remain hopeful!!!

For All My Trust Is In You

In nearly every disciples life, there comes a time of lowliness and doubt. It seems as if our prayer requests just bounce off the ceiling and fall in broken pieces at our feet. God seems distant, hiding, asleep, or unsympathetic to our cries for mercy and help. Thankfully God gives us the psalms. In psalms we can find words for almost all of life’s ups and downs. It is nice when we are down to know that others have been there before us and have recovered their faith and vitality.

But, there are just some moments in life when we need to have God’s reminders of His love and guidance. This psalm, and these words are made for such a time.

Don’t Be Envious, Be Contended With What You Have (Psalm 37:1-2)

Frustration and envy, isn’t that your reaction to those who are evil and yet seem to prosper? We’ve reminded to not let the apparent and short-lived successes of evil people derail our faith or dampen our spirits.

Their victorious are temporary, their wealth is like a flower that will wilt, and their life is like the grass which withers and is soon gone.

Prayer: Lord God Almighty, praise your holy and matchless name. You have blessed me mightily. You have protected me in the face of my enemies. You have given me life, and hope, and future with you. Please dear father, help me to avoid wasting my time worrying about what others have. Please give me a heart of Thanksgiving for, and contentment with, all that you have done to bless me. In Jesus name I pray. Amen!!!

My Friend’s Wedding

What God has joined together let no man put assunder. I am so against the policy of divorce these days. Whenever there is a problem in a relationship or marriage, pray to God and believe all will be surely great. Remember how it was and reflect on that special day you guys became one.

That leads me to the main issue of this short piece…

Only if you know the pain behind that smile. The fight, the struggle to keep a good relationship, the resources needed for a successful wedding day.

Today I celebrate my friend turned sister, Tutu who got married last week. God bless your new home with blessings, favour, fruitfulness, and divine resources in Jesus name.

Happy Sunday guys!!! 🎈💕💕💕💕💕

Was Lost, Now Found

Am so happy this morning starting my week with great news. It fills my heart with joy.

Where do I start from. For some time now have been praying for two of my friends for God’s intervention in their lives. I just realized I have a gift for mentoring and motivating others.

This morning, a friend of mine told me she’s done watching porn movies and have deleted all from her laptop. I was in tears when she told me. We both were fanatics when it comes to watching porn and masturbation. We even brag about it that porn movies are sex education. When I stopped watching porn, I tried convincing her to stop watching too, but it was like a magnet to her. She loves it so much that she can’t quit. I kept her in my prayers and always talk to her jokingly about the past, using that as a means to ask if she has stopped watching and deleted her porn videos. But today I was stunned by the goodnews she shared this morning that she has deleted all the videos and gone back to Christ. Tears of joy filled my eyes as I was happy and glad she’s back with Christ.

My second friend was just like the prodigal son story. She was a fun filled girl that loves parties and got her eyes for big things and easy money. Recently she and her boyfriend had an argument. Instead of clearing the air, she went to another state to meet a guy disturbing her on social media,  stayed at his place for close to a week and cheated on her boyfriend. I didn’t know anything until her boyfriend buzzed me and told me about her activity.  I told him don’t worry when she realizes her mistakes she will come back. This same morning, her boyfriend sent me a voice note sent by her asking for forgiveness. The first thing I did was to thank God and sent an hallelujah message to him. I told him the lost sheep is back.

Am so happy for two things;

  1. My friend realizing that porn is a devlish act against God. Coming back to Him for mercy and grace
  2. My other friend realizing her mistake and ready to face the reality of life,  asking for forgiveness and mercy.

In this life nobody is perfect, we all have an addiction we battle with everyday. If only you can believe that we are safed through His grace, never feeling guilty or condemned.

Please fill free to rejoice with me for my lost friends. Am very happy this happened this morning.
