In Everything, Give Thanks!

When everything seem well,  giving thanks its quite easy but when things are upside down, how easy does thanksgiving come to you. 2017 is gone but there are a lot of things you wished came to pass last year before thr curtain closes.  It is not convenient,  yes but God’s admonition is to give thanks in everything.

Your act of thanksgiving is an indication of your unreserved faith in God that you are still in control despite difficult circumstances. Stop focusing on things that seem not to be working so that thanks will not cease from your lips. This gives heaven the opportunity to do what they are good at doing- turning situations to favour you.

NB: Don’t look at what is not going well in your life, instead appreciate what yiy have for heavens to bless you more than your expect.

The Joy Of Giving

Don’t you just love stories? Stories have power and they help us use more of our minds, imagination, and creativity, helping us to discover new things about ourselves and about the world we live in.

A woman who was traveling alone in the mountains found a precious stone in a stream.
The next day she met another traveler who was hungry, the woman opened her bag to share her food.

The hungry traveler saw the precious stone and asked the woman to give it to him.

She did so without hesitation.

The traveler left, rejoicing in his great fortune.

He knew the stone was worth enough to give him security for a lifetime.

But a few days later he came back to return the stone to the woman.

“I’ve been thinking,” he said,

“I know how valuable the stone is, but I give it back in the hope that you can give me something even more precious. Give me what you have within you that enabled you to give me the stone.”

The woman smiled, “The joy of giving!”

Joy Is The Result Of God’s Presence

Good morning my brothers and sisters, again let me use this opportunity to welcome you into the new year. As you know it’s a Wednesday 🕺🕺🕺. Today’s story is about experiencing Joy when you just don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow.

“Joy is the result of God’s presence” i was surfing the net when i came accross this phrase by Kristen Spencer.

Want to go on a flashback journey when I was in school. I remembered when I gained admission, the joy of going to school, making new friends, and start another phase in my life. I was privileged to attend a private school. Firstly, I thank my parents for that opportunity, because my dad used his retirement pay to send me off to school, my mum was fully supportive to my feeding, for me  to have the best education they never had.

Have been told am very easy, friendly  and social. Everybody wanted to be my friend in school because I was active and never wear my struggles or worry on my face. People come to me for assistance and I deliver. Most of my friends think am a son of a rich man, just because am very jovial, I don’t worry but always full with joy. There was a day I was discussing with some friends and I decided to tell them how much was my pocket money for a month. They were all shocked and surprised how I was coping with the little I was receiving from my parents. The little I have eventually end up sharing with others and it doesn’t get to me. I simply replied, I cannot steal but grateful for all what my parents are doing for me. I was expecting  they will spread the gist they heard with peeps about me, but they didn’t. Still I wasn’t worried if they told anyone, it’s my life to live.

In my 200 level, I started a small business 😁. I started selling anti virus for my colleagues and friends in school. It was just like a dream when I started, i thought I was not going to make it in that area, but as always God saw me through. I stopped requesting for money from my parents except they send me money. Later I ventured into selling plantain chips to every departments. I will carry a big sack of chips all around the departments for students to buy. This was done during my free period. Some even call me and order for chips.. lol!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 now that was a great experience for me. I did it with no remorse or worry about what people will say, but with a big smile filled with joy. Then after the chips business I partnered with some friends to buy a satellite dish to start showing football (soccer) matches to students. This was just like a joke to me but I was amazed by the turn up of students. Till I left the school, the satellite was passed on to the next set to continue with the tradition.

My life in school was just the best. I made a lot of friends, even with the little I had, I was very popular!!! Active in every activities was just the height of it.

Nobody can buy Joy, you make it happen. But most importantly Joy is the result of God’s Presence. Whenever you feel down, talk to someone about your deepest perspectives and experience, invite friends into your life, and also contribute to the joy around you.

Be joyful in all circumstances this year, it will build your confidence, you will be inspired and generally Happy!!!! Make that a 2018 goal in your life.

He Will Wipe Away Every Tears This Year

This is a new year and we should believe God got us and He will wipe away our tears.

What a beautiful phrase. The one who died for us will nourish and refresh us. The one upon whom all eternity hinges will take time to personally comfort us. No wonder uncle Paul could say that he did not consider his present sufferings worth comparing to the glory that would be revealed to us!!! ( Romans 8:18)

I see someone doing great things this year.

RCCG Holy Ghost Congress 2017 Begins Today: Repost

This year’s Holy Ghost Congress of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) kicks off today at the church’s Redemption Camp, Km 46, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

With the theme “Songs of Victory” the Congress will runs till December 9, each day packed with various activities, organisers say.

Among those to minister at the Congress are Enoch Adeboye, general overseer, worldwide, and other preachers, such as Bishop Tudor Bismarck, Stephen Rathod (US), Mensa Otabil (Ghana), S.K. Abiara, Mike Okonkwo,  Ayo Oritsejafor, and Joe Imakando.

The Congress is not all about sermons, according to a programme released by organisers. Built in are special sessions for talks on various aspects of life.

They include such topics as: Affordable diet for good health; Identifying and operating a profitable retail business; Preservation of agricultural produce; Small scale vegetable farming; The ABC of personal and family security; Managing family finances in a depressed economy; and The pitfalls on the journey to marriage.

Expected at the Congress are members of the church from over 196 countries where the church has presence, and other people who would be attending for various spiritual reasons.

Usually, with the twin auditoriums of the church full at the peak of the event, attendance is put at over six over million people. Many other people, who are not opportune to attend, are expected to participate through viewing centres in the 196 countries.

RCCG holds monthly Holy Ghost Services at the Redemption Camp, which is rounded off with a Congress in December.

According to Pastor Adeboye, the Holy Ghost Service was first held in 1986.

He recalls in a testimony: “I was in London preparing the Sunday school booklet for the mission when I heard from God. He said, ‘Son, what do you want for your birthday?’

‘I was shocked. The reason I was shocked was that: I didn’t know God would be interested in my birthday., And secondly,  I didn’t know He could be asking me for about what I wanted as present.

“So I said, ‘Lord if that is you, please repeat the question.’

“He assured me it was Him and asked again what I wanted as a birthday present.

“I replied, ‘What I want is that all my members will get miracles.’

“He asked, ‘Is that’s all?’

“I replied: ‘That’s all I want.’

“Then He said, ‘In that case when you get home, call them together and I will give them whatever they ask for.’

“I needed to call the service a name, so I asked Him.

“And He said: ‘Holy Ghost Service.’

“What happened at the first Holy Ghost Service was wonderful. And when we finished, my people came to me to request that I consulted God for the service to hold every year.
God granted the request.

“But after some time, members of the church suggested that I should request for a monthly Holy Ghost Service. And that was granted.”

For All My Trust Is In You

In nearly every disciples life, there comes a time of lowliness and doubt. It seems as if our prayer requests just bounce off the ceiling and fall in broken pieces at our feet. God seems distant, hiding, asleep, or unsympathetic to our cries for mercy and help. Thankfully God gives us the psalms. In psalms we can find words for almost all of life’s ups and downs. It is nice when we are down to know that others have been there before us and have recovered their faith and vitality.

But, there are just some moments in life when we need to have God’s reminders of His love and guidance. This psalm, and these words are made for such a time.

Don’t Be Envious, Be Contended With What You Have (Psalm 37:1-2)

Frustration and envy, isn’t that your reaction to those who are evil and yet seem to prosper? We’ve reminded to not let the apparent and short-lived successes of evil people derail our faith or dampen our spirits.

Their victorious are temporary, their wealth is like a flower that will wilt, and their life is like the grass which withers and is soon gone.

Prayer: Lord God Almighty, praise your holy and matchless name. You have blessed me mightily. You have protected me in the face of my enemies. You have given me life, and hope, and future with you. Please dear father, help me to avoid wasting my time worrying about what others have. Please give me a heart of Thanksgiving for, and contentment with, all that you have done to bless me. In Jesus name I pray. Amen!!!
