Be Content About Your Life

Wonder if any of you ever had the feeling that life is bad, real bad and you wish you were in another situation? Do you find that life seems to make things difficult for you, work sucks, life sucks, everything seems to go wrong?

It was not until some few months back that I totally changed my views about life; after a conversation with one of my friends.

He told me despite taking 2 jobs, and bringing back barely above N60,000 per month, he is happy as he is. I wonder how he can be as happy as he is now, considering that he has to skimp his life with the low pay to support a pair of old-age parents, in-laws, wife, a child and the many bills of a household.

He explained that it was through one incident that he saw in an Indian movie. Movies sometimes have a lot to contribute to our daily lives.

It happened a few months ago when he was really feeling low at home watching an Indian movie after a major setback. He said that right in front of his very eyes on the screen, an Indian mother chopped off her child’s right hand with a chopper. The helplessness in the mother’s eyes, the scream of the pain from the innocent 4 years old child haunted him until today. You may ask why did the mother do so, has the child been naughty, was the child’s hand infected??

No, it was done for two simple words — to beg. The desperate mother deliberately caused the child to be handicapped so that the child can go out to the streets to beg. I cannot accept how this could happen, but it really did in the movie. And am sure this happens just in another part of the world which I don’t see.

Taken a back by the scene, the boy dropped a small piece of bread he was eating half-way. And almost instantly, flock of 5 or 6 children swamp towards this small piece of bread which was then covered with sand, robbing of bits from one another. The natural reaction of hunger. Striken by the happenings, a tourist who was in India enjoying himself, saw the incident and instructed his guide to drive him to the nearest bakery. He arrived at two bakeries and bought every single loaf of bread he found in the bakeries.

The owner is dumb-folded, but willing, sold everything. He spent less than $100 to obtain about 400 loaf of bread (this is less than $0.25/per loaf) and spend another $100 to get daily necessities. Off he went in the truck full of bread into the streets. As he distributed the bread and necessities to the children (mostly handicapped) and a few adults, he received cheers and bows from these unfortunate. For the first time in life he wondered how people can give up their dignity for a loaf of bread which cost less than $0.25. He began to ask himself how fortunate he is as a Singaporean. How fortunate to be able to have a complete body, have a job, have a family, have the chance to complain what food is nice what isn’t, have the chance to be clothed, have the many things that these people in front of him are deprived of…

Now I begin to think and feel it too. Was my life really that bad?

Perhaps….no… it should not be bad at all….

What about you? Maybe the next time you think you are, think about the child who lost one hand to beg on the streets.

Smart Goals

If you ask most people what is their one major objective in life, they would probably give you a vague answer, such as, “I want to be successful, be happy, make a good living,” and that is it.

They are all wishes and none of them are clear goals. I learnt on planning my goals smart by these methods.
Goals must be SMART:
1. S–specific. For example, “I want to lose weight.” This is wishful thinking. It becomes a goal when I pin myself down to “I will lose 10 pounds in 90 days.”
2. M–must be measurable. If we cannot measure it, we cannot accomplish it. Measurement is a way of monitoring our progress.
3. A–must be achievable. Achievable means that it should be out of reach enough to be challenging but it should not be out of sight, otherwise it becomes disheartening.
4. R–realistic. A person who wants to lose 50 pounds in~30 days is being unrealistic.
5. T–time-bound. There should be a starting date and a finishing date.

Caution: This Is Highly Contagious

No matter how bad your day is or how moody you are, you can never beat the power of a smile and happiness.

Happiness starts with a smile 😁😂🤣

5 Ways To Survive With Life

There have been times where I found life to be really difficult to cope with. During those times, I have succumbed to stress, had low self-esteem and felt that I just could not carry on. Fortunately, I have come through and this encouraged me to share with you this topic.

First things first, I acknowledge my father in heaven. For without him I wouldn’t have come this far in life.

1. Recognize your situation

Sometimes, one of the most difficult things to do is to recognize your own situation. When life is tough, it becomes difficult to see what is actually happening. Negative thoughts can make it hard for you to think clearly. They can make you feel as if there is no way you can continue.

To break this kind of thinking, ask yourself: Have I changed?
Take note of the things you have been experiencing lately, like struggling with sleeping, not eating well, drinking excessive alcohol and no longer doing the things you enjoy. These are all signs that you are not effectively coping.
Recognizing these signs is the most important thing you should do. Once you are able to recognize your struggles, you can start finding ways to improve things and make your life better.

Try to identify what is triggering your anxiety. It can be the sad passing of a friend or family member, money problems or relationship difficulties. Or it could be a combination of things which are mounting up.

2. Make time for yourself

You are important and you need to recognize this. Failure to see your importance can easily make you neglect yourself.

Ensuring that you are eating a healthy diet is one of the best things you can do. When your body is healthy, so is your mind.

Try to engage in some form of exercise. This doesn’t have to involve a trip to the gym. In fact, you can start with a gentle stroll around a local park.
Although exercise can’t instantly cure your stress, it can help reduce your anxiety as well as help divert your attention. In addition to healthy eating and exercise, you can also do meditation.

At first, this may seem unusual, but, in the long run, this technique can make you easily recall your happy moments easily.

3. Plan a way to move forward

Once you know what is causing your stress, you can start looking for ways to solve it. If you know you won’t be able to solve it on your own, don’t hesitate to ask for help. In case you are being stressed by money problems, for example, there are organizations that can help you with advice and support. For bereavement, there are counselors who can give you practical help to move on.

There are a lot of organizations online that can give you support. If you find this uncomfortable, you can go see your doctor.

4. Keep a ‘Positive Diary’

A “positive diary” works similarly to a journal. However, instead of paying close attention to negative thoughts, you write down positive things about your day. For each day, you need to record three positive things. They can be things you felt or thought of during your work at the office, while working out in the gym or during your walk home.

As much as possible, disregard the negative things that may have happened. Focus only on the positive things to attract more of the good energy into your life.

5. Know that you can carry on

As I said above, there will be some days where you will encounter setbacks and there will be times when your best-intentioned plans will fail. You need to know that this is something that happens to everyone and is not a reason to give up.

Some time ago I went through some pretty tough times. At that time, I thought they were insurmountable. However, I kept going, looked for positives and got through it.
I was reminded by reading some of my Facebook memories which showed some pretty bleak posts from previous years that showed me how I found a way to get through. In time, things did get better.

Don’t give up
You may feel that there is no solution and that the only way forward is to leave this world. Although tempting, this isn’t one of the best ways to cope with life. If you ever feel this way, please get professional help.
There are a lot of suicidal cases in the world today. It is so devastating to look at families and friends, all wondering if they could have done anything to help. Actually, we could have done something- had he only asked.

Moving on and finding ways to cope with life can take some effort and time. This, however, doesn’t mean that they aren’t doable.

Depressed? Alone? Tired? Afraid? Take heart–God Thinks You Are Great.

Something motivating for you today.

If you think you’re thick and naff
Hate to see your photograph
Self worth sinking in the bath
God thinks you are great.

Wander through a boring life
Avoidance of all kinds of strife
Sever friendships with a knife
God thinks you are great.

Need to change your point of view
Jesus died alone for you
Wants to make you all brand new
God thinks you are great.

Jesus knocking at your door
He is what you’re looking for
Let His Spirit heal your sores
Cos God thinks you are great.

The Best Is Yet To Come

It’s another Friday and the weekend is here. This piece is for the road. Hope you like it!

I closed my eyes in what seemed like a dream, and opened them in another land. I saw trees that were perfect, the bluest sky, and many things I could not understand.

I heard sounds that appeared as great choirs, all singing with a melody of praise. I saw people arrayed in the brightest apparel that blinded of heavenly rays.

There were creatures I saw that were so different, yet all were so beautiful and kind. I searched my thoughts to see if I had seen such a sight, yet nothing like these came to my mind.

Their appearance was very awesome, and yet somehow you still had no fear. They just stared as though they were beckoning you to follow, with a love that just drew you near.

The grass was so green, with not a blade out of place, and the streets seemed like streams made of gold. Everything looked, as though it had just been created, for nothing was battered or old.

I saw no sun casting shadows about, yet the brilliance was of a shining array. I saw no darkness just magnificent colors, as if waking to a perfect day.

The families I passed all turned, waved, and smiled, with a joy that just seemed so complete. As I turned around I saw a massive throne, with others kneeling down at God’s feet.

Crowns were now being laid down before Him, the rewards of the faithful and true. One of them called me to come forward, yet I had no crown, so what could I do?

I lowered my face, looking down to the street; I had shame, guilt, and despair. Then I felt a hand take hold of mine, and He promised to walk with me there.

Tears began to fall from my eyes, yet He reached out and wiped them away. He introduced me as faithful and true; I was quiet with nothing to say.

My knees gave way, and I fell down in worship, as a crown was then placed in my hand. The shame and guilt then disappeared, and I began to, now understand.

I turned my face up to the throne; I saw Jesus He was smiling so sweet. I took that crown that He had given to me and I laid it at my Savior’s feet.

Then I stood to my feet as others had done, and then received His very best.

When I heard Jesus, say “well-done good and faithful servant, now enter my Father’s rest.”

I Don’t Have a Man! Is it Okay As a Christian Woman To Have a Sex Toy?

This is something have not done before on this platform. But had to bring in this interactive topic.

Now I get questions all the time but this recent one blew my mind! A friend of mine from a fellowship wanted to know if it’s okay for her to use sex toys to fulfill the sexual side of herself. She stated that she doesn’t want to sneak around having sex so this way she is having safe sex and not fornicating with anyone else. She said she was too ashamed to ask her Pastor and wouldn’t dare bring it up to her fellowship. Is this a sin she asked? Now I know ya face dropped so pick it up now! Let’s be real for a minute (So many of you are fake so I know that’s a lot to ask). Smile.

Do you know other women that have and use sex toys? I know your not bold enough to confess it yourself. I’ve heard of a lot of women using sex toys even those that are married and have boyfriends!! Yep…I said it. Now keep reading.

The question here is is it a sin? Have one violated the law of God in the bible? This is going to get crazy but again I told you we’re in a new year so be bold about what you want to know. I know the’re going to be so many that will read this and drive right on by. Lol. That’s kool….but you gone learn today! Now if you aint scared…..talk to me!!!!

Things That Occur When You Love What You Do But You Don’t Live To Work

It was a long holiday this week celebrating Sallah for my Muslim brethren in my country and the world. When the federal government decides to give everyone a big break.

In the space of the break, I became lazy to write anything, even thinking of what to write became a problem. But I got motivated after learning from a friend’s life experience. How does it feel to love what you do but don’t live to work.

Check this out….

1. You love your job, but you don’t love it more than other parts of your life. You don’t love it more than your partner, or cooking, or getting a full night’s sleep. People tend to think as though you’re either a “career” person or you’re doing something else with your life to supplement doing work, but you know that there does not need to be just One Thing that consumes you. You can care about a lot. You can do a lot. Just not all at the same time.

2. You’ll often find yourself working at a coffee shop on a Saturday morning because you… want to. A lot of people will confuse your desire to work a lot with a demand to work a lot. When you love what you do, it’s like a hobby and a paycheck all in one. You’d keep doing it to some degree, even if you weren’t getting paid for it.

3. People to expect you to be consumed by “passion” when really you’re more motivated by love. There’s this image people have of what it means to love your job, and it’s usually a cold-hearted black-pantsuit wearing half-human who is in a relationship with their email account and work wife. This isn’t your reality, though. You’re not consumed by your job, but you have grown to love it through commitment, presence and practice.

4. It wasn’t your first choice, or it’s not what you thought you’d be doing, but you believe those facts serve you more than they don’t. It’s often said that the people who truly succeed are the ones who aren’t emotionally invested in the outcome. Because they’re not invested, they’re not fearful, and so they act more than they think. People who are “passionate” about what they do are lost in their emotions, people who grow to love what they do are driven by daily actions and gratitude for them.

5. You’ll be okay if you’re never the “best” in the industry. In our extreme, gluttonous culture, we think that if you don’t have big dreams, you don’t have dreams at all. You know that it’s just as noble to aspire to being an excellent employee who works hard and spends time with their friends, if that’s what you really want. If you never live to be the next Biggest and Greatest with a line on Forbes’ 30 Under 30, but you did get to do a lot of other things you wanted, that’s just fine by you.

6. You’re happy to take weekends off and use your vacation days, but are just as excited to get back in the office (or on the laptop) once you’re done. And you honestly consider this the best part of enjoying what you do.

7. You see the meaning in the mundane. You may not be the one changing the world, but you believe in what you do, even if it’s a menial task. You’re happy and proud to assist the boss who does the great work, you’re grateful to make people their coffee in the morning. When you’re able to find purpose in the moment, you cut the line in front of everyone that’s trying to find it in the extraordinary ideas they don’t actually have the desire or drive to see out.

8. You know that the work is never done. I saved this one for last because it is the most important. People who love what they do but don’t live to work are just the ones who know that the work is never done. There are always going to be more emails, more clients, more problems, more assignments. Most people live under the pretense that once their work is “complete” they’ll be free to relax and live, but they’re searching for a finish line that doesn’t exist (well, maybe not until retirement, or, you know, death.)

Imagine Life As A Game

Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. You name them – work, family, health, friends and spirit and you’re keeping all of these in the air. You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball.

If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls – family, health, friends and spirit are made of glass. If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for balance in your life. How?

Don’t undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others. It is because we are different that each of us is special.

Don’t set your goals by what other people deem important. Only you know what is best for you.

Don’t take for granted the things closest to your heart. Cling to them as you would your life, for without them, life is meaningless.

Don’t let your life slip through your fingers by living in the past or for the future. By living your life one day at a time, you live ALL the days of your life.

Don’t give up when you still have something to give. Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying.

Don’t be afraid to admit that you are less than perfect. It is this fragile thread that binds us each together.

Don’t be afraid to encounter risks. It is by taking chances that we learn how to be brave.

Don’t shut love out of your life by saying it’s impossible to find. The quickest way to receive love is to give; the fastest way to lose love is to hold it too tightly; and the best way to keep love is to give it wings.

Don’t run through life so fast that you forget not only where you’ve been, but also where you are going.

Don’t forget that a person’s greatest emotional need is to feel appreciated.

Don’t be afraid to learn. Knowledge is weightless, a treasure you can always carry easily.

Don’t use time or words carelessly. Neither can be retrieved. Life is not a race, but a journey to be savored each step of the way.
