Good Time Stories: Review

Copied Image

I recently found these great stories on carlpei.com that not only are a little humorous but also have very good “morals of the story.” Please note..while I am not a big fan of certain language, in the case of a couple of these stories, they just fit perfectly. Enjoy!

Lesson 1

A man is getting into the shower just as his wife is finishing up her shower when the doorbell rings. The wife quickly wraps herself in a towel and runs downstairs. When she opens the door, there stands Bob, the next door neighbor. Before she says a word, Bob says, “I’ll give you $800 to drop that towel.” After thinking for a moment, the woman drops her towel and stands naked in front of Bob.

After a few seconds, Bob hands her $800 dollars and leaves. The woman wraps back up in the towel and goes back upstairs. When she gets to the bathroom, her husband asks,…

“Who was that?” “It was Bob the next door neighbor,” she replies. “Great!” the husband says, “Did he say anything about the $800 he owes me?”

Moral of the story:

If you share critical information pertaining to credit and risk with your shareholders in time, you may be in a position to prevent avoidable exposure.

Lesson 2

A sales rep, an administration clerk, and the manager are walking to lunch when they find an antique oil lamp. They rub it and a Genie comes out. The Genie says, “I’ll give each of you just one wish” “Me first! Me first!” says the administration clerk. “I want to be in the Bahamas, driving a speedboat, without a care in the world.” Poof! She’s gone. “Me next! Me next!” says the sales rep. “I want to be in Hawaii, relaxing on the beach with my personal masseuse, an endless supply of Pina Coladas and the love of my life .” Poof! He’s gone. “OK, you’re up,” the Genie says to the manager. The manager says, “I want those two back in the office after lunch.”

Moral of the story: Always let your boss have the first say.

Lesson 3

A priest offered a lift to a Nun. She got in and crossed her legs, forcing her gown to reveal a leg. The priest nearly had an accident. After controlling the car, he stealthily slid his hand up her leg. The nun said,”Father, remember Psalm 129?” The priest removed his hand. But,changing gears, he let his hand slide up her leg again. The nun once again said, “Father, remember Psalm 129?” The priest apologized “Sorry sister but the flesh is weak.” Arriving at the convent, the nun went on her way. On his arrival at the church, the priest rushed to look up Psalm 129. It said, “Go forth and seek, further up, you will find glory.”

Moral of the story: If you are not well informed in your job, you might miss a great opportunity.

Lesson 4

A crow was sitting on a tree, doing nothing all day. A rabbit asked him,”Can I also sit like you and do nothing all day long?” The crow answered: “Sure, why not.” So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the crow, and rested.

A fox jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Moral of the story: To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very high up.

Lesson 5: Power of Charisma

A turkey was chatting with a bull “I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree,” sighed the turkey, but I haven’t got the energy.” “Well, why don’t you nibble on my droppings?” replied the bull. “They’re packed with nutrients.” The turkey pecked at a lump of dung and found that it gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree. The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch. Finally after a fourth night, there he was proudly perched at the top of the tree. Soon he was spotted by a farmer, who shot the turkey out of the tree.

Moral of the story: Bullshit might get you to the top, but it wont keep you there.

Lesson 6

A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field. While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him. As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was. The dung was actually thawing him out! He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy. A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate. Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.

Moral of the story:

1. Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy

2. Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your friend

3. And when you’re in deep shit, it’s best to keep your mouth shut!

Pastors Are Criticized, Celebrities Are Praised

Thank you lord for the gift of life and blessing my week. Morning my brothers and sisters in the Lord and the world, trust your night and day went well.

Yesterday service was really great and inspiring which led me to write on this topic. It’s obvious around us everyday, except we don’t observe what’s going on around. Celebrities are praised and worshipped like gods. They tour the world, ride expensive cars, buy expensive clothes, house and so on. We look at their lifestyle and see no faults.

On the other hand, pastor’s who are soldiers of the kingdom to win souls for Christ and spread the Gospel are criticized. Whenever a pastor travels with a private jet or drives a Rolls Royce Phantom, or dresses good and look so young with swag, people tend to criticize them. Why?

What I fear is that the devil is using the life’s of entertainers and celebrities to have an impact in this world. You see people these days trying to copy a celebrity lifestyle, living a fake.

Look at it in this scenario, if Beyonce comes to my country today, the number of people you will see screaming and praising her name will be enormous. Most people will even fight just to take pictures with her. Social media platforms will be blazing with buzz and feeds. But when a pastor comes to the country with a private jet and later picked up with a Rolls Royce, you will start reading negative feeds like “he’s a pastor and his living this kinda lifestyle, how did he get the money, am sure he’s using the tithes we pay to live this life”. When a pastor is seen living an expensive lifestyle they are criticized and judged. Funny but true!!!
If you check Wikipedia for Joyce Meyer or pastor T. D Jakes, and so many great soldiers of God, you will see a section where people criticize the way they live large. You don’t know the seeds these great people have sowed. But when they read Beyonce just acquired another jet, people keep quiet and praise her more.

There are rich pastors in these world. It’s not by there power or might, but God’s grace and blessings. So because am a pastor I shouldn’t look good or have a beautiful lifestyle? The mentality of some people makes me laugh sometimes.

I wish and I pray God open the eyes of people to know the truth and follow the path of righteousness. If people can change their lifestyles to look and live like a celebrity, while not use that to change your lifestyle to that of Christ. And have the mentality that they are blessed and eating the fruit of their labour. Living a big lifestyle by pastors is not a problem, but when it gets to them and starts affecting the ministry, then it’s a problem.

We all deserve to be praised one way or the other, but we are not worthy of praise one bit, only our Father in heaven deserve the highest praise.

Your Testimony Is A Blessing To Someone

Copied Image

What breakthrough have you encountered today? what miracle have you received in the past that you still enjoy the grace? One thing I know is, you don’t hide what God has done for you. Your testimony is a blessing to someone out there.

When I got my job this year, the Holy Spirit wanted me to testify but I didn’t. The devil tried to silent my blessings and not to share. Until a day came I decided in church I was going to testify today. The devil still tried to persuade me in that instance.  But I stood in the presence of Jesus and shared my testimony, God made it stock to my mind to testify but I was stubborn, thinking it was okay for me to keep my blessings to myself. Reading different inspirational books is really good, each day am learning new things and improving in knowing more about Jesus. By the time I finished given my testimony, I had this joy in me that my story will change someone’s story.

When the Lord blesses you, don’t hide it, share it to bless others. It might not be in monetary form or gifts. But by testifying of His goodness can transform someone’s life out there.

Happy Sunday guys!!!

The Reality Of Life We Live In

Everyone has one or two things in reality. It’s a choice either you be a banker and a successful family man or you have other careers and family too.  In a reality it pictures the way you want your life to be lived.

Quit Trying And Start Trusting God

Copied Image
In order to receive what we need from God, we must be humble enough to quit trying and start trusting. We must be willing to stop doing and start asking.

The first time I noticed this writing, it changed the perspective I see life. Now I see life to be easy because I do not need to force myself for things to happen in my life. In my precious article, I stated back then in my life when I focus more on trying my best to do something or be something in life but it didn’t happen. Finding my peace and way with God has taught me a lot of things and opened my eyes to start trusting him and not trying to do it myself. I know someone can testify to this, like me I don’t like to sit around doing nothing, I like to engage in one or two things to earn something in life. But most times we try and try but no result. The truth is that we have to focus more on God and humbly come into His presence to ask for directions, knowledge, and wisdom, trusting that all we asked are already answered.

If I should share my experience with anyone in the flesh, what I get will be am lazy. There are so much opportunities out there and you just sitting doing nothing. What I tell that kinda person is that “I don’t need to fret, I don’t need to try and don’t get results under stress, all I do is to go before my God and ask for what I need and I will receive”.  That’s the difference between work and grace.

A lot of quotes states the day you quit trying, you are a loser. That is believing the work of the flesh. There are various testimonies where people don’t even stress a bit to get something big from God. Men with big faith receive big grace, and that supersedes anybody. You know who you are, do your best with no stress and commit and trust the rest to God.

Make it today in your life to quit trying and start trusting God for that breakthrough you need in your life.

Have a blessed day!!!

Fact About Grace: Series

If you are frustrated about timing, lean tpepray with the psalmist, my times are in your hands. (Psalm 31:15)

I remember back then when I get so frustrated if I wanted to get something at a particular time and it didn’t come. Like applying for multiple jobs with no reply, or trying to figure out what kind of business or side work you want to do but no vision?  I never knew I am just worrying for nothing, until my dad advised me that God’s time is the best. I began to understand that we don’t need to kill ourselves to get something. If it’s not God’s time it won’t come to pass.

Same thing as a friend of mine who was desperate to get a guy because she was due for marriage. Frustration from her parents especially her mum and family members kept raining down on her each day. She was at the brick of running away, but I told her what my dad said to me. My dear God’s time is the best. You don’t need to listen to any third party but God. Lean on Him and you will see His grace shining on you.  She’s preparing for her wedding now as am writing, this God is just too much…

I advise you to lean on God’s grace and wait for His own time for His will to be done in your life. That time is everlasting and perfected. No man can interfere.

Today’s Prayer

Dear Father, thank you for my faith and all those who helped me come to know you and your grace. Please bless me as I seek to share this faith with my family and friends. Thank you for the confidence that my life is secure in your love and victorious because of your power. In Jesus name. I offer you my thanks, praise, and my heart. Amen!

Have a wonderful day guys!!!
