If we are not willing to humble ourselves, we have no hope of peaceful relationships. As long as we think we know everything, we do not know anything. When we believe we still have a lot to learn and stop passing out our opinions, we have finally come to the place where knowledge can begin. The apostle Paul stated;
For I resolved to know nothing (to be acquainted with nothing, to make a display of the knowledge of nothing, and to be conscious of nothing) among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. 1 Corinthians 2:2
Paul was very educated, yet he says he would rather forget all he ever thought he knew in order to know Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Over the years, I have found that I have to be nailed to the cross with Jesus regularly if I am going to stay out of pride. I too have to know Christ and Him crucified.
Too often we don’t understand statements like this in the word of God, so we pass over them and miss a very important lesson. The book of Romans says we will not reign with Christ if we do not suffer with Him. And if we her His children, then we are His heirs also: heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, only we must share His suffering if we are to share His glory. Roman 8:17
To enjoy the glory of a peaceful life, you have to go through the suffering of learning to crucify your pride. Also learn how to stop arguing.
